We are loving the new ocean-themed mural at Life Boat, designed by local artist @thehayleyco. The aim was to bring a sense of playfulness and adventure to the space, transforming the playground into a vibrant, welcoming spot for kids and families to enjoy 🌊

Hayley had the following to say about her inspiration for the project....."I spent hours dreaming about the ocean as child—searching for mermaids, wondering if I’d stumble across buried treasure, and imagining all kinds of underwater adventures. This mural is inspired by those childhood memories and aims to bring that same sense of wonder to life. It also includes local touches like crayfish and dolphins to reflect the unique character of The Marina Mindarie.

With bold lines and bright colors, the mural adds energy and warmth to the playground, making it an inviting space for everyone. Public art can do so much for a space—it draws people in, fosters community connection, and even helps create a sense of care and pride. I love knowing that this mural has become part of that story for The Marina. This mural isn’t just about brightening up a wall—it’s about sparking imagination and celebrating the unique, vibrant spirit of the community."

Celebrate the year of the Snake with the range of festivities happening for Lunar New Year at The Marina, Mindarie. Bottomless dumplings at Cabana Pool Bar, a solo orchestra performance from Juliet Pang at Indian Ocean Brewing Co, Chinese lantern making and face painting for the kids at Life Boat as well as a performance from the Yaolin Roaming Dragon dancers on the boardwalk from 4.30pm.

The Big Easy is back! Start the afternoon at The Indi, browse the market stalls, try one of the Creole inspired dishes, sip on a hot style Spicy Boi, visit the tarot card reader and catch the talented Mikey Long Trio who are back to rock the Garden Bar with their boisterous blues set from 5pm.
